Chickens are useful animals to have on a farm. They can produce both Meat and Eggs. For the hens to be able to lay eggs they need a Nest in close range.

These are their food items:
- Seeds
- Melon Seeds
- Beetroot Seeds
- Pumpkin Seeds
They can also eat seeds that are placed on the ground. To place seeds on the ground, just right click the ground with seeds in hand. Dispensers can also place seeds. For chickens to breed a rooster must be in range of a nest with eggs inside.
Breeds
Water
- Will drink from water filled Troughs, or water blocks such as ponds, rivers and lakes.
- You can also fill up a water bucket and give them a drink manually.
- Unlike pigs and cows, they do not consume a full water block or bucket.
Behavior
- For a hen to lay eggs, she must be happy (fed and watered) and have access to a Nest.
